Dark or Light Coffee: That is the Question?

Dark or Light Coffee? That is truly the age old question.

Do you like the bold taste of a dark roast? Or are the sweet notes of a light roast more your style? One thing for sure - we all love our coffee! We know it can be tricky to find your perfect roast, so let's dive in and talk about the differences!

I'm all about the taste! Dark or Light Coffee?

When it comes to taste preferences, choosing between Dark or Light Coffee doesn't have to be confusing! The longer coffee roasts, the darker roast profile it gets! With a dark roast, the coffee inherits tasteful notes from the roasting process, transitioning away from the original, natural flavor notes. This process destorys the beans' cell structure to realease carbon monoxide.

With a light roast option, the coffee is roasted for a shorter duration, allowing the natural flavors to stay prominent. Light roasts often include floral, fruity, chocolatey, and nutty flavor notes!

Not sure if Dark or Light Coffee is your favorite? No worries, that's why we offer medium roast, as well!

Dark Roast = Bold Taste

Medium Roast = Natural Flavor Notes combined with subtle flavors from the Roasting Process

Light Roast = Light and Natural Taste

I'm all about the caffeine! Dark or Light Coffee?

When coffee is roasted, the beans' cellular structures are modified. Believe it or not - the longer coffee roasts, the less caffeine it contains! For example, our Sumatran Dark has less caffeine than our Nicaraguan Light.

Dark Roast = Less Caffeine

Light Roast = More Caffeine

So, what's your favorite roast? Dark or Light Coffee?
